What
does Tidy Designs Do?
We offer a website design solution for you and your business. Our
services include everything that you need to put your website online,
including domain name registration, website hosting and submission
to major search engines.
For e-commerce websites, we also set up and test the shopping cart
system, connect it to your merchant account and or payment gateway
for online payment systems. We also set up an SSL connection for secure
credit card transactions and set up items for sale.
Our maintenance packages are an easy and affordable way to keep your
website content fresh and up to date. Changes to the text can be
made by e-mail, fax or post.
How
much does it cost?
We have packages to suit every budget from a basic 5 page website starting from £500 to a full blown e-commerce management system starting at £1,200.
Before we commence any work we will assess your needs and produce a quote for approval. Once this budget is approved by yourself we will start on the design.
Is
there a contract period?
Our design packages do not come with a contract period unlike some
of our competitors.
The maintenance contracts do have a one year minimum service period
as do the hosting services.
Do
you offer a guarantee?
Yes. We offer a guarantee to all of our customers. If you are not
satisfied with your website, simply let us know within 16 days of
the completion date and we will refund all of our fees promptly.

Payment
options?
We accept payment by cheque or credit cards via PayPal.
When
will I get billed?
We ask that 50% of the design fee be paid up front with the rest
to be paid upon completion of the design process.
Our maintenance contracts are to be paid monthly with the first payment
becoming due upon completion of the website. Subsequent months will
be billed on the first business day of each month.

What
is your design process?
You do not have to have any computer or design skills whatsoever to
have Tidy Designs design a website for you or your business. All you
need is a pen and paper and we will do the rest.
Step 1 - Choose a domain name
If you do not have a domain name already, we can offer up to 5 suggestions
based on the name of your business or organisation and you can choose
your own and the order of preference.
If you already have a domain name, we will need the webmaster information
provided by the domain name registrar company.
Step 2 - Choose a design layout.
If you have a specific layout in mind for your website just jot it
down on a piece of paper and post/e-mail/fax it to us or point us
to any similar websites you have seen.
If you do not have any ideas or would like us to choose the design,
that's fine. Either way we will endeavor to design your website to
best suit your needs.
Do
I have to be online or "build" my own website?
No, we design the website for you and do not use online "builder"
software with a limited design capability. You do not need to be online
for this process at all - the entire process can be done from start
to finish on paper.

What
is excluded from your packages?
Our package prices do not include:
- Copy writing
- Credit card merchant or PayPal account sign-up
Any of the above are available but will be quoted for on a separate
basis depending on the complexity of the project
What
if I don't like the finalised design?
At Tidy Designs it is our aim to make sure that you are completely
satisfied with our work and the final website. If there are aspects
that you are not completely happy with we will try to rectify these
for you. If you are still not happy within 30 days of the completion
of your website we will refund all of our fees.
Unfortunately we can not refund the cost of your domain names or
your website hosting package.

Do
you do website redesign?
At Tidy Designs we are more than happy to redesign your existing
website. If you are not happy with your current website contact us
at enquiries@tidy-designs.com with details of your current website and
we will send you a quote.
What
if I have minor changes or updates after the design process?
Our website packages allow for up to 10 minor changes in the first
month after completion. After this period additional changes are only
£10 each.
Alternatively we do offer a 12 month maintenance contract which allows
for up to 5 minor changes to your website per month. This service
is only an additional £10 per month.
Can
I make my own alterations and what if I make a mistake?
Yes as we do provide you with the necessary webmaster information
such as the FTP address and login details.
Unfortunately we can not be responsible for any of your alterations.
If you do make a mistake we can restore your website from our backups
but this service will be subject to a small administration charge
of £25 so please only attempt this if you know what you are doing.

How
many e-mail addresses can I have?
Our website packages come with between 15 and 35 POP3 e-mail addresses
(somename@yourwebsite.co.uk). These e-mail addresses can be accessed
through your regular e-mail programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express,
Eudora and others or as a web based e-mail access.
Can
I set up e-mail forwarders?
Yes. you can set up unlimited e-mail forwarders by yourself or we
can set them up for you.
What
is the design process of an e-commerce website?
After steps 1 to 3 of a basic website there are an additional 5 steps
to get your e-commerce website up and running.
Step 4 - Shopping Cart Set Up.
This is a very complex step though all you need to do is tell us your
shipping method, choices and fees together with any other options
(such as different colours, sizes etc).
Step 5 - Set up your Merchant account and/or PayPal account.
If you don't have one already, your business will need to apply for
a merchant account to accept payments directly by credit card or a
PayPal account to accept PayPal payments.
Once this is done simply pass the webmaster information to us.
Step 6 - Connect your Shopping Cart to your Merchant/PayPal account.
We will take care of this complex step for you.
Step 7 - Add items for sale.
Simply provide us with photos, descriptions, pricing information and
any other options and we will set up the items for sale.
Step 8 - Testing.
Again we will take care of this step for you.

How
many items can I sell?
Our e-commerce packages have no product limits unlike some.
How
will I know when my website receives an order?
You will receive an order notification e-mail with the customers order information.
How
do I add/remove a product or alter a products details or photo?
Products are easily added using the online administration panel.
We can carry out and product changes or updates for you as part of our maintenance contracts if you wish.

Will
you automatically submit my website to search engines?
Yes. Our basic and e-commerce website packages include basic website optimisation
and submission to the following major search engines: All The Web,
Altavista, AOL, Google, HotBot and Lycos.
If you do not want us to submit your website to search engines please
tell us before the design process is finalised.
What
will you do to optimise my website?
We will optimise your website's meta tags (title, description and
keywords) for more favorable search engine ranking. We can also give
some advice on optimising the textual content in your website for
search engine rankings.
We do not use any unethical methods to improve your website's rankings
as these can lead to your website being banned or unlisted from search
engines.
