Do you need a new web design

Below are five questions to ascertain if you need a new design for your website.

1. Is the content on your site valuable, updated regularly and of a high enough quality?

If the answer is no or even maybe, look at your site from your customers viewpoint and analyse your web pages carefully. Try to determine if the content would hold your interest enough to keep on reading. It is often advisable to ask a friend or colleague to perform this task as they may be more objective.

2. Is the 'Return on Investment' from your website in line with the number of visitors received?

This could mean that amongst other things your current site is not intuitive to navigate, unappealing or not captive enough.

3. Can visitors automatically guess the purpose of your website as soon as they get to it?

It is important to remember that online visitors spend, on average, less than 10 seconds on each web page they visit. Why could this be? Many sites do not captivate their visitors' attention, caused usually by cluttered text, too many images or fonts that are hard to read.

4. Is your website mirrored by your business image?

Analyse your company's marketing strategy and goals. Make sure your your website is delivering to your visitors the right message and conveying your company's vision and personality. It is also important to provide a captivating site that interests your audience and will stand out in their minds.

5. Do you provide examples or testimonials of your products or services?

Websites differ from traditional forms of advertising in that there are no staff to talk to and no store front to view. Your image is portrayed solely through your site. That's why it is a worthwhile investment to get a professionally designed website if you want to be a success.
